LC State was named the No. 3 top public regional college in the West in the 2022 U.S News & World Report rankings released this week.

The West region includes colleges as far east as Oklahoma and Texas. LC State also was ranked No. 8 for Best Value in regional colleges in the West, and was named among the top regional private and public colleges in the West for Best Undergraduate Nursing.

LC also ranked 31st in a new category this year, Social Mobility. The category considers how a college does in serving economically disadvantaged students and the graduation rate for students receiving Pell Grants.

The rankings continue a tradition of strong honors for Lewis-Clark State by U.S. News & World Report. LC has been ranked as the No. 1 public college in the West twice and is regularly ranked among the top 10 public colleges and top 25 public and private colleges in the West.

LC State has the lowest tuition among Idaho’s four-year public institutions and has an enrollment of around 3,800 students. Lewis-Clark State was one of more than 1,800 colleges and universities to submit data to be included in rankings, which started in 1983 to provide college-bound students information on schools and to make comparisons.
