The Daughters of the American Revolution are inviting the public to join them in celebrating Constitution Day by ringing a bell 13 times this Friday at 1pm.

Friday marks the 234th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia at the then-Pennsylvania State House, now better known as Independence Hall, in 1787.

In 1955 the Daughters of the American Revolution petitioned Congress to designate September 17th as Constitution Day. Citizenship day is also celebrated September 17th, as a

time for all Americans to reflect on the rights and responsibilities of citizenship and what it means to be a U.S. citizen.

Everyone is encouraged to ring a bell 13 times at 1pm Pacific Time for the original 13 colonies.
