Washington State University is amending its coronavirus protocols following federal approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
The Lewiston Tribune reports the move means students will no longer be eligible for personal or philosophical exemptions to the school’s vaccine mandate. Those who previously received those exemptions will now have 45 days to get vaccinated, or apply for a medical or religious exemption.
Students who haven’t requested or received an exemption now have until Sept. 10th to get fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, Wazzu employees have until Oct. 18th to get fully vaccinated or get a medical or religious exemption.
School officials say as of Monday, more than 62 percent of students are fully compliant with the school’s COVID-19 protocols, meaning they’ve been vaccinated or received an exemption. And of those, 94 percent chose to get the vaccine. ( Lewiston Tribune)
