Nezperce man injured in accident between Winchester and Culdesac

A Nezperce man was injured following a single-vehicle crash along U.S. Highway 95 between Winchester and Culdesac yesterday (Sun).

Idaho State Police say 20-year-old Marc Fischer fell asleep while traveling southbound between mile maker 283 and 284. The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and crashed down an embankment before catching fire. The crash started a small brush fire that was extinguished.

Fischer was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, where he was treated and released.

Meanwhile, at about 3:30pm a two-vehicle, head-on crash on U.S. Highway 95 near Cottonwood blocked traffic yesterday (Sun) afternoon in both the north and south bound lanes.

According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, traffic was rerouted through Cottonwood until the crash was cleared.
