A Clarkston man drowned in the Snake River near the confluence with the Clearwater River yesterday (Wed) morning.

People camped at the Granite Lake RV Park in Clarkston called 911 at around 8:35 a.m. after hearing 31-year-old Matthew Bynum yelling for help and struggling about 100 yards off shore.

Several marine units were involved in the search, and Bynum’s body was located in about 19 feet of water about 2 ½ hours after he was first seen.  (Lewiston Tribune)
