Green Ridge wildfire grows, merges with Lick Creek blaze

wildfire-graphic

The over 20,000 acre Green Ridge wildfire has merged with the more than 80,000 acre Lick Creek Fire burning in parts of Asotin, Garfield and Columbia counties.

Gusty winds Sunday allowed the Green Ridge blaze to expand, jumping the Tucannon River near the Clearwater Guard Station and Teal Spring Campground.

Crews have been tracking down spot fires caused by the high winds in order make a solid connection between the Lick Creek burn area to the east and the 22 Road to keep the fire from moving north.

The Green Ridge Fire is listed at 15 percent contained, while the Lick Creek Fire is still listed at 90 percent contained. (InciWeb)
