Lack of participating vendors forces Art Under the Elms cancellation

Because of a small response from vendors willing to participate, the Dogwood Festival’s 36th annual Art Under the Elms event scheduled for late April at Lewis-Clark State College has been cancelled.

While organizing officials were hoping for 40 vendors, the annual three-day outdoor artisan fair celebrating the arts had less than 20 vendors sign up. Many vendors who usually travel to this and other events around the country are still not traveling because of concerns involving COVID-19. The low number of vendors who did sign up will receive a full refund of their deposit.

The event is sponsored by and benefits the LC State Center for Arts & History, located at 415 Main St. in Lewiston. Organizers are planning for a strong return of the event in 2022.
