Palouse area continues to see spike in COVID cases

Regional health officials are monitoring a recent uptick in the number of coronavirus infections reported on the Palouse.

Whitman County and Latah County have both seen spikes of late with 41 new virus infections in Whitman County over the weekend, and 33 new cases reported in Latah County.

Elsewhere in the region numbers continue to be relatively low. Nez Perce County reported 10 new virus infections Monday; Asotin County saw its number climb by just 3; Idaho County had 4; Clearwater County added only 2; Lewis County reported just one new infection; and there were no no new virus cases in Garfield County.

There were no COVID-related deaths reported in the 8 county region on Monday. (Lewiston Tribune)
