Idaho Governor Brad Little will hold a press conference today (Fri) with regard to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Two weeks ago, with the number of infections drastically rising, Little announced the state would move back into Stage 3 of the Idaho Rebounds recovery plan for at least 14 days.
With the number of infections continuing to soar, and several hospitals becoming overwhelmed, many health experts have pushed for more measures to combat the spread – including a statewide facial mask mandate.
However, the governor has been reluctant to issue such an order, and instead has left those decisions up to local health departments and city and county governments. To date, 10 of Idaho’s 44 counties have implemented mask mandates along with 10 cities.
The governor’s press conference begins at noon Pacific Time and will be streamed online via Idaho Public Television.
