Lewiston robbery suspect arraigned

The man accused of robbing two Lewiston convenience stores has been arraigned in Magistrate Court.

59-year-old Chris Prelle of Long Beach, California, faces two felony counts of robbery. He allegedly used a gun to rob both the Liberty Mart in north Lewiston October 27th and the Xpress Mart in the Lewiston Orchards Monday, November 2nd.

Prelle did not have a prior criminal record and had been living with his sister in Clarkston.

A preliminary hearing in the case for Nov. 18th.

The maximum penalty for robbery in Idaho is life in prison and a $50,000 fine. Robbery also carries a minimum sentence of five years in prison. (Lewiston Tribune)
