The recent surge in coronavirus cases continues to climb in north central Idaho and southeastern Washington with 153 new cases and one death reported in the region Tuesday.
According to the Public Health – Idaho North Central District, Nez Perce County continues to see the highest numbers of new infections with 72 more Tuesday – including 12 cases among students and staff in the Lewiston School District. Latah County added 15 new infections, Idaho County reported an increase of 26 cases, Clearwater County added 3, and Lewis County reported 7 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday.
In southeastern Washington, Whitman County had 14 new infections and 7 hospitalizations. The county also reported one more coronavirus death, bringing the county’s total number of COVID-related deaths to 18. Asotin County added 12 new virus infections – including 4 hospitalizations, and Garfield County reported 4 new positive virus cases. (Lewiston Tribune)
