Health district officials in north central Idaho and southeastern Washington reported a combined total of 54 new coronavirus infections in the region Wednesday, including an additional death from earlier this month.
Officials say the death was in Asotin County and the victim was a woman who was between 80 and 100 years old.
Meanwhile, both the Grangeville and Moscow school districts reported positive cases among students and staff. It isn’t clear exactly how many infections there are in either district, but those affected are isolating at home. Contact tracing is underway and public health officials will notify those who may have been exposed.
In north central Idaho, Latah County reported the highest numbers of positive cases with 18, Nez Perce County added 10 new infections, Idaho County had six, Clearwater County reported 4 additional cases, Lewis County had two, and the Nez Perce Tribe’s Nimiipu health reported 11 new COVID-19 infections Wednesday.
In southeastern Washington, Whitman County reported 8 new virus infections and Asotin County had 6 new coronavirus infections Wednesday. (Lewiston Tribune)
