Coronavirus cases continue to climb, Pullman becomes nation’s #1 hot spot per capita

The number of coronavirus infections continues to climb in the region.

Whitman County has now topped 1,000 cases after 79 new infections were reported Monday. According to the New York Times, Pullman now has the highest per capita infection rate in the nation with more than 77 cases per 100,000 people per day. The majority of cases in Pullman have been attributed to the return of the students to Washington State University.

Asotin County reported six new cases combined Sunday and Monday, while Garfield County added one case.

The Public Health – Idaho North Central District reported 32 new cases since Friday for a total of 768.

Idaho County led the five county district with the most infections over the weekend with 14 new positive cases for a total of 67. Latah County had 13 new infections, and Nez Perce County added five new cases, bringing the county total to 375. (Lewiston Tribune)
