The number of statewide coronavirus infections in Idaho continues to climb.
State officials say on Sunday, the state added 206 confirmed cases and three probable cases. On Monday, Idaho added 244 more confirmed and 8 probable cases, bringing the statewide total since the pandemic began to 5,255 confirmed cases.
Bear Lake and Oneida counties reported their first-ever cases, leaving just four of Idaho’s 44 counties without any confirmed cases of the coronavirus – including Lewis County.
No new deaths were reported, leaving the statewide total at 91.
Meanwhile, hundreds of inmates have been tested at the Idaho State Correctional Center south of Boise since three inmates there tested positive for COVID-19 last week.
The Idaho Department of Correction was able to deploy the tests through a partnership with the US Department of Veterans Affairs
Starting on Monday, IDOC began testing all 258 inmates inside the E block at ISCC. (KTVB)
