Lapwai man facing felony DUI charges for role in injury accident

A Lapwai man is in custody at the Nez Perce County Jail on a $25,000 bond after he was charged with felony aggravated DUI for his role in a February crash that left one of his two passengers paralyzed.

19-year-old Alessandro Domebo was arraigned in Nez Perce County Magistrate Court this week on the felony aggravated DUI charge and the misdemeanor charges of driving without privileges and failure to appear.

According to court documents, Domebo was the driver of a 2010 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck during the early morning hours of Feb. 5th when the vehicle fish-tailed, rolled on its passenger side, left the roadway and struck an embankment on Lapwai Road just before 3 a.m.

Two passengers, Laquita Reuben and Judah Swift were both injured. Authorities say Reuben’s injuries resulted in paralysis from at least the waist down.

A preliminary hearing has been set for July 8th. (Lewiston Tribune)
