As coronavirus infections spike across Idaho and Washington, more cases of the virus are being reported locally.
Health officials say Whitman County reported two more COVID-19 cases over the weekend and six since last Wednesday – bringing its total number of infections to 34.
Meanwhile, officials with Idaho Public Health – North Central District have added three new confirmed cases, along with three probable. Nez Perce County reported two confirmed cases and three probable, while Latah County added one new case. The region has now reported 101 infections overall.
None of the new regional cases required hospitalization and all patients are isolating and recovering at home.
Health officials remind the public that even though many restrictions have been lifted, the virus is still very active. People should continue to wear masks when in public places, wash hands often and continue to social distance as much as possible to prevent spread. (Lewiston Tribune)
