Regional insurance providers make adjustments to coronavirus coverage

Several insurance providers with regional ties have announced enhanced coronavirus benefits. Blue Cross of Idaho waived all member cost-sharing for testing and treatment of COVID-19 for its individual, fully insured, and Medicare Advantage members through June 30th, at no additional premium cost. Regence BlueShield of Idaho will cover COVID-19 treatment without any out-of-pocket costs for fully insured members through June 30thh, and Premera Blue Cross is waiving consumer cost shares and deductibles for all fully insured, Medicare and individual market customers through October 1st.  Meanwhile, the Greater Columbia Accountable Community of Health is distributing 230-thousand dolalrs, some of which is earmarked for southeastern Washington. Asotin County’s nearly 18-thousand dollar share goes to Tri-State, Quality Behavioral Health, and the CHAS Dental Clinic. Garfield County Health District gets 58-hundred dollars, and 18-thousand dollars is headed to Whitman County to help Pullman Regional Hospital, Palouse Medical, and Palouse River Counseling.
