Latah County gets 1st COVID-19 case; Idaho totals surpass 660

Latah County reported its first confirmed case of COVID-19 Wednesday as Idaho County reported its second, and Nez Perce County, its 10th. Public Health-North Central District officials say both the Latah County and Idaho County individuals are recovering at home after apparently contracting the illness through travel. No details have yet been released on the latest Nez Perce County case. Confirmed positive cases of the coronavirus in Idaho spiked for the second time this week. The Idaho Department of Health reports at least 141 new cases in the past 24 hours for a total of 665, with nine deaths reported. Ada and Blaine counties each surpassed 200 cases Wednesday – Blaine County leads the state with 256 cases, and Ada County has 226. Nine Idaho counties have now reported cases of community spread, and cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in 29 of Idaho’s 44 counties. Health and Welfare reported nearly 73-hundred tests had been completed statewide at the end of the day Wednesday, about 9-point-1 percent of which were positive. (Idaho Statesman)
