Washington Gov. Jay Inlsee announced Friday that all public K-12 schools in the state will be closed starting Tuesday, March 16 through at least April 24.
In a tweet, Inslee said the COVID-19 outbreak is evolving quickly and the state will not wait to take the measures needed to contain it. (Washington Governor Jay Inslee via Twitter)
Meanwhile, the Governor also extended a ban on large gatherings of 250 people or more statewide.
There have been more than 560 positive COVID-19 tests reported so far and Washington’s death toll from the virus is now at 37. (AP)
