School Closings:

Lewiston Independent School District will close Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20 for deep cleaning and time for teachers to prepare instructional materials in the event the closure extends beyond spring break. At this time, we expect students and staff will return to school after spring break, on Monday, March 30.

During the closure, all school-based sports and extracurricular activities are canceled. In addition, District facilities will be closed to all outside and extra-curricular activities.

They are currently working with District Nutrition Services to develop a plan to offer breakfast and lunch to students under 18 to help alleviate food insecurity. We will communicate more information as this becomes available.

Clarkston- Asotin – Anatone:

Clarkston School District (CSD) will be closed March 17th through April 24, 2020, in an effort to aggressively slow the spread of COVID-19. We are committed to keeping you updated with information as soon as it becomes available.

We recognize the significant impact this extended closure will have on our entire community, students, families, and staff. Closing the school for a minimum of six weeks mid-year is unprecedented. We acknowledge the anxiety this may cause our students, especially our seniors who are focused on graduation and those children who depend on our school for critical services. We also recognize the burden this will place on our staff and working families.
The Clarkston School District is in regular contact with local and state officials to ensure we address the needs of our school communities and we will be working in partnership with the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) on what this extended closure means for the school year calendar. As soon as we have more information, we will share it with you.
Student Meal Support
Beginning Tuesday, March 17, our food service department will be providing meals (times and locations to be determined) every weekday. Additional information will be shared with families as it becomes available.

Washington Restaurant and Bar restrictions:

Governor Jay Inslee has ordered bars and restaurants to close in-dining service. More details are coming March 16. Businesses should find about curbside pickup and delivery options tomorrow. His statement is below:

“Given the explosion of COVID-19 in our state and globally, I will sign a statewide emergency proclamation tomorrow to temporarily shut down restaurants, bars and entertainment and recreational facilities.

“Restaurants will be allowed to provide take-out and delivery services but no in-person dining will be permitted.

“The ban will not apply to grocery stores and pharmacies. Other retail outlets will have reduced occupancy.

“Additionally, all gatherings with over 50 participants are prohibited and all gatherings under 50 participants are prohibited unless previously announced criteria for public health and social distancing are met.
