The full Idaho House will consider a bill easing restrictions on drone use by law enforcement officials. The measure passed through the House Transportation Committee on Thursday allows public safety officers, as well as fire and law enforcement agencies, more flexibility to use drones without a warrant – particularly for traffic accidents and traffic reconstruction. Supporters of the measure say it would also lessen the number of time officers spend on crime scenes by allowing them to gather information in a matter of minutes. Lawmakers say the bill If passed doesn’t change things for private commercial users or those who fly drones as a hobby as all current privacy protections remain in place. (KTVB)
