The Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport’s new manager has officially taken the reigns. The airport’s authority board on Wednesday honored outgoing interim manager Bill McKown as he handed off his duties to Michael Isaacs, whom the board hired for the permanent job last month. Isaacs, the former manager of the airport in Pierre, South Dakota, helped restore commercial passenger flights in Pierre, experience valued by Lewiston airport officials following Horizon Air’s departure in August 2018. That move affected 60 percent of the hub’s passenger service – those who used Horizon to travel to Seattle and Boise. Isaacs saw the Pieere airport lose Delta with little notice, and other circumstances led to no service at the airport for a 2-and-a-half month stretch last year. Isaacs helped usher in the return of flights to Denver through United Express operated by SkyWest last April to large success. (Lewiston Morning Tribune)
