Idaho House committee introduces bill to end daylight saving time

Legislation in the Idaho House would end daylight saving time for the Gem State.

Republican Representative Christy Zito says the twice-a-year time change is a safety hazard that causes temporary jet lag leading to injuries among motorists and pedestrians, while also increasing the chances of strokes and heart attacks.

The House State Affairs Committee Thursday voted to introduce the measure, though Zito concedes its chances of passage are slim. She introduced similar legislation last year, but it failed in the full House on a 55-15 vote. (AP)
