Changes to Idaho’s emergency careline will help ensure ready access for those in need.

The Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline has partnered with the Idaho 2-1-1 Careline, making it easier for callers who may be in crisis to reach the hotline.

When someone calls 2-1-1, they can now press ‘3’ to be routed directly to the Suicide Prevention hotline, both during 2-1-1 operating hours – 8 am to 6pm Monday through Friday – or after hours. Additionally, 2-1-1 operators have been trained to better recognize suicide warning signs in their callers and to provide a “warm transfer” to the hotline for those identified as being in need of increased support.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, please reach out to the suicide prevention hotline, either through 2-1-1 or by directly calling or texting the Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline at 208-398-HELP, or 208-398-4357.   All calls are anonymous and confidential. (Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline)
