Union employees at Clearwater Paper’s Lewiston mill have voted to ratify a new contract after nearly a year of negotiations. Some 800 members of the United Steelworkers and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers on Tuesday night ratified the contract following votes Monday and Tuesday. The negotiations over wages and medical benefits had stalled in the fall and were resumed in December when a tentative agreement was reached. The new contract runs through August 2025, affecting about two-thirds of the facility’s employees. (Clearwater paper, LMT)
