Idaho Governor Brad Little returned this past week from a nine-day trade mission to Taiwan and Hong Kong – his first official trade mission as governor.

The first-term Republican says the meetings with overseas business people and government officials helped strengthen Idaho’s decades-old partnership and friendship with Taiwan, and opened doors for new trade and investment opportunities.

Taiwan is Idaho’s second largest export destination, and companies there bought more than $675 million in Gem State products in 2018. Hong Kong is Idaho’s ninth export market overall.

Representatives of more than a dozen groups and businesses joined Little on the trade mission, including the Idaho Wheat Commission, Agri Beef, Syringa Networks, and the University of Idaho College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. (Idaho Gov. Brad Little)
