Work on Lewiston’s Main Street waterline project shifts to overnights

Crews replacing antiquated water line under Lewiston’s Main Street will begin working overnight next week to finish road work.

City officials say replacement of the 110-year-old lines between Jefferson Street and 18th Street is complete. The next and final phase to reconstruct the roadway is expected to wrap up in December.

In order to reduce construction impacts on motorists and pedestrians, work hours are changing to generally be in the evening, between 7 PM and 7 AM, Sunday night through Friday morning. The change in operations is scheduled to begin this Sunday night at 7 o’clock.

The road will be open for two way traffic, and all businesses will be accessible when crews are not working.  (City of Lewiston)
