An overloaded electrical power strip is the suspected cause of a house fire in the Lewiston Orchards Monday afternoon.
No injuries were reported.
According to the Lewiston Fire Department, crew responded just after 3 PM to the home in the 3,500 block of 7th Street to find light smoke coming from the home. The fire was coming from a bedroom on the main floor, and crews quickly extinguished the flames.
All occupants were able to get out of the home unharmed.
Firefighters remained on-site for about an hour to monitor the scene. The estimated damage to the structure and its contents is about $7,500. (Lewiston Tribune)
