Due to low participation and uncertain fish runs, the annual Lewis-Clark Valley Chamber of Commerce Steelhead Derby is being discontinued.
The chamber’s board of directors voted unanimously to end the non-profit event at a meeting earlier this week.
Idaho and Washington officials closed steelhead fishing on both the Clearwater and lower Snake rivers last month due to the low number of steelhead passing Lower Granite Dam west of Clarkston. (Lewis-Clark Valley Chamber of Commerce, KOZE News)
