Lapwai woman dies in 3-vehicle crash on US95 near Lewiston

A Lapwai woman was killed and two others injured in a 3-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon along Highway 95 just east of Lewiston.

According to the Idaho State Police, 75-year-old Geneva Towner was southbound in a 2008 Honda CRV just before 2 PM when she crossed the center median, and collided with a 2016 Chrysler 200 driven by a 21-year-old Craigmont woman. A third vehicle, a 2016 Ford Explorer driven by a Boise man, collided after the initial crash.

Towner was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the Craigmont woman and a juvenile received minor injuries, while the third driver was.uninjured. All involved were wearing their seatbelts.

Northbound Highway 95 traffic was diverted onto Hatwai Bypass for approximately four hours. (ISP)
