Twins fall in legion state title game, await pairings for regional tournament

Randon Hostert allowed just two hits and struck out 8 in leading the Idaho Falls Bandits to a 5-0 shutout win over the Lewis-Clark Twins in the championship game of the Idaho State Double-A American Legion Baseball Tournament Tuesday at Harris Field.

Stockton Nelson delivered a 3-run triple as the Bandits improved to 51-5-1 and claimed the program’s fourth state title.

Blaine Acree and Mason Daniel recorded the only hits for LC, who dropped to 26-21.

Both teams advance to next week’s American Legion Northwest Regional Tournament at Harris Field. Teams from Washington, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming and Alaska will compete for a berth into the American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina.
