An Idaho County Sheriff’s deputy who was placed on leave last month in the midst of an Idaho State Police investigation has fired following his arrest in California on underage sex charges.
Nick Harris was arrested on two counts of lewd conduct with a minor and one count of sexual abuse of a minor. Idaho County Sheriff Doug Giddings says he fired Harris on Friday.
Giddings says the investigation was immediately turned over to state police detectives when the allegations were brought to the sheriff’s office.
Harris had been employed as a deputy since May 2016. He remains jailed in California on a $100,000 bond. (Lewiston Tribune, AP)
