A Spokane woman has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in last year’s killing of a Clarkston woman.

Authorities say the body of Sarah Warden was found near Winchester last July, and may have been there for upwards of a month.

On Tuesday, 31-year-old Amanda Jones entered her guilty plea after initially being charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing of Warden. In exchange, Nez Perce County prosecutors will recommend a 30-year-to-life term in prison when she is sentenced at a later date.

Jones also agreed to testify against Cole Marcell, who allegedly orchestrated the slaying in the Waha area. Jones had allegedly threatened Warden a few days prior to the murder over a debt Warden owed to Marcell, who has an arraignment hearing scheduled for later this month.

A third co-defendant, Gabriel Mattingly, was sentenced to five to 15 years in prison in April.  (Lewiston Tribune)
