The University of Idaho will have its next president this week. The Idaho State Board of Education holds a special meeting Thursday to consider a contract and hire the next leader of the Moscow school.

Four finalists under consideration are Christopher Callahan, dean of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University; Diane Chase, executive vice president and provost at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; UofI alum Scott Green, global chief operating and financial officer for international law firm Hogan Lovells; and Elizabeth Spiller, dean of the College of Letters and Science at the University of California, Davis.

The new hire will replace President Chuck Staben after he and the board mutually decided to let his contract expire. (Idaho Board of Education, Lewiston Tribune)
