The trial of an Orofino man accused of killing his infant daughter two years ago begins in Lewiston next week.

28-year-old Daniel Alldrin is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his month-old daughter in May 2016. Prosecutors accuse Alldrin of shaking his daughter, whose death resulted from multiple organ failure resulting from blunt-force trauma involving internal injuries and bruising to her body.

Alldrin claims a stereo speaker fell on the girl while he was momentarily in another room.

The trial was moved to Lewiston after Clearwater County officials were unable to sit an unbiased jury. The trial is expected to last between three and four weeks. (Lewiston Tribune)
