The Idaho State Board of Education has formed its screening committee to vet candidates and recommend finalists to be the next president of the University of Idaho.

Board member and Committee Chair Emma Atchley this week announced the 12-person panel made up of faculty, student, staff, alumni, and community representatives. The committee will work in conjunction with both the board and a search firm in its efforts to replace current president Chuck Staben when his contract expires next year.

Staben announced in May that he will not be returning to the Moscow campus when his deal concludes. Staben has been at the UofI since 2014.

The presidential screening committee holds its first meeting this month. The board plans to name a new president sometime early next year and have that person in place by July 1st.  (ISBE)
