The Lewiston School Board has unanimously accepted a $2 million gift from the DeAtley family in memory of A. Neil DeAtley at a special meeting on Monday.

The donation secures naming rights for the new Lewiston High School career technical education center currently under construction, which will be named the A. Neil DeAtley Career Technical Education Center.

Also in July, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration awarded a $662,000 grant to the school district for the Tech Center.  The money will be used to secure appropriate industry-standard equipment for its students in the areas of auto, machining, pre-engineering, health occupations and construction.

Officials say the new facility is expected to open in 2021.  (Lewiston Tribune, KOZE News)
