The American Legion has named Lewiston Fire Department Chief Travis Myklebust as its Idaho firefighter of the year.
American Legion Post Number 13 nominated Myklebust, citing his leadership, involvement in the community, and overall vision for the department.
Myklebust has spent 27 years with the department, the last four as chief.
With the state recognition, awarded over the weekend in Boise, Myklebust is a nominee for national firefighter of the year. (Lewiston Fire Department, Lewiston Tribune)
