A national market website ranks Washington and Idaho near the top of a list of state economies.

Business Insider combined six measures of labor-market and general economic health for all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The factors include unemployment rate, job growth, per-capita gross domestic product, GDP growth, average weekly wages, and wage growth.

Washington came in at Number 2 on the list. The state’s average weekly wage of $1,168 was the second-highest in the nation, while its non-farm payroll job growth of 2.8 percent between April 2017 and April 2018 was the fourth-highest.

Meanwhile, Idaho came in at Number 6.  Its non-farm payroll job growth rate of 3.3 percent and GDP growth rate of 4.8 percent were the second-highest. Analysts said Idaho fared much better in this quarter’s ranking than the first quarter, when it ranked 20th.

Washington, D.C. came in first on the list, while South Dakota was last. (KREM)
