Lewis-Clark State head men’s basketball coach Brandon Rinta has accepted the same position at Central Washington University.

Rinta says the decision to leave was one of the toughest he’s ever had to make.

Rinta also commented on how his time at LC impacted him and his family.

Rinta, a Central Washington alumnus, has spent the last seven seasons at LC where he compiled a 164-62 record, which is the highest winning percentage in the past 50 years. He led the Warriors to three Frontier Conference regular season championships and a pair of conference tournament titles.

Under Rinta LC earned five NAIA National Tournament berths and enjoyed the second-most wins in school history in 2016 going 29-5. The Warriors earned a national rank of third, which was the highest in school history as Rinta was named Frontier Conference Coach of the Year.

In 2013, the Warriors started the season 18-and-0 and Rinta won the Don Meyer NAIA National Coach of the Year award.  (KOZE Sports)
