A group hoping to put a measure on Idaho’s ballot in November to expand Medicaid is making progress.
Officials with Reclaim Idaho say the grassroots political group has collected 29,000 signatures for their Medicaid for Idaho campaign – more than half of what they need to get expansion on the 2018 ballot. Those signatures were collected exclusively through a volunteer effort, and the group says to collect the remainder of the needed signatures, paid signature gatherers will be used through the Fairness Project, a non-profit that helped Maine get Medicaid expansion on the ballot.
The group has six weeks to collect the remaining signatures.
Reclaim Idaho has focused its efforts even more the last several weeks as majority Republicans in the Idaho Legislature again refused to address Medicaid expansion. (Sandpoint Reader)
