Eric Marcel Akkerman, 43, was taken from us unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, in Odessa, Texas.
Eric was born in Lewiston on May 1, 1974, to Deena Akkerman and Bill Weems. Eric grew up and attended schools in Lewiston and studied at Lewis-Clark State College.
He moved to Texas in 2012 to take a job with Halliburton, and later with Schlumberger cement.
He loved his time with family and friends; his cousins were a huge part of his life. He loved spending time at the cabin at Dent, fishing and hanging out with family. He shared the love of music with friends and family, attending as many concerts as possible.
Eric is survived by his mother, Deena Holly of Juliaetta; father Bill Weems of Plummer; sons Dominic Akkerman of Lapwai, and Colton Holt of Olympia; brothers Tadd Kelly, Steven Swain and Brian, Brice and Timothy Holly, all of Lewiston; sister Alicia (Toni) Pedersen Hays of Concord, Mo; girlfriend Jessica Arndt of Odessa; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Also a big part of Eric’s life were Steve Swain Sr. and Ray Kelly, and many friends who were as close as family. He was preceded in death by grandmothers Agnes Akkerman and Shirley Weems.
Services will be held at a later date.
