A Boise native will spend the next 40 years behind bars for kidnapping, beating and attempting to murder his former girlfriend and their unborn child.

22-year-old Talon Cutler-Flinn was sentenced Tuesday in Asotin County Superior Court.

According to court documents and testimony from the victim, 26-year-old Stacee McKay was punched in the stomach, choked, bound, gagged with a bloody sock and driven to a remote location on Asotin Creek Road during an escalating altercation on January 1st, 2017.

Asotin County Prosecutor Ben Nichols asked for the high end of the sentencing range on all 11 counts, saying the victim and her children deserve protection. The maximum would’ve been 503 months, just shy of 42 years.

Based on the evidence produced at the bench trial in November and state guidelines, Judge Scott Gallina sentenced Cutler-Flinn to the upper end of the range. The sentence of 491 months, minus two days, amounts to more than four decades.  (Lewiston Tribune)
