Warriors sweep Northern

Junior post Jossilyn Blackman recorded her first double-double of the season as the 7th ranked Lewis-Clark State women’s basketball team ended a two-game losing streak with a 77-61 Frontier Conference win over 21st ranked Montana State – Northern Thursday night at the Activity Center.

Blackman led the way with 14 points and 11 rebounds and sophomore guard Jansen Edmiston added 11 points, 5 assists and 3 blocked shots as the Warriors improve to 12-4 overall and 3-2 in league play.

Meanwhile, Pullman junior forward Race Martin poured in a game-high 26 points as the 10th ranked LC men rallied past the Northern men 77-68.

Freshman point guard Damek Mitchell came off the bench to score 15 points as the Warrior men seized sole possession of first place in the Frontier Conference.

LC is now 15-2 overall and 4-1 in league.

Both teams are back at it Saturday afternoon when they host the University of Providence in Frontier Conference play.  The women tip-off at 2pm with the men’s game to follow at 4pm and live coverage on AM 950 KOZE and online at koze.com.  (KOZE Sports)
