A 46-year-old Lapwai woman died following a one-car rollover accident on Lapwai Road this weekend.

According to the Idaho State Police, Toni Simpson was driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee near the junction of Lindsay Creek Road just before 11 PM Saturday night when she lost control.  The vehicle went into the ditch, causing it to roll several times before coming to rest in a private roadway.

Simpson was taken to the hospital in Lewiston and died at Sunday morning.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, though ISP says the initial indication is that Simpson was driving too fast for conditions.  She was not wearing a seatbelt.  (ISP, Lewiston Tribune)
