Asotin County Fire District #1 responded to a structure fire this Wednesday morning in Clarkston.
Shortly before 8am crews were dispatched to 1447 5th Street where firemen reported lots of smoke on the home’s main floor. EMS crews contacted the lone female occupant inside and Lewiston Paramedics transported her to Tri-State Hospital for possible smoke inhalation. The fire was under control within about 10 minutes.
Investigators believe the fire started in the basement of the home where there was extensive heat and smoke damage. Smoke damage was also reported on the main floor.
The cause of the fire is not known.
