The Lewiston City Council is expected to make a hiring decision Monday for its next city manager.

Councilors will review a proposed employment agreement with Alan Nygaard, one of three finalists for the city’s top job.
Nygaard is the director of business services for capital planning and development for the University of Washington’s campuses. He also has worked as the assistant executive director for the Pierce County Housing Authority, city manager at Newcastle, Wash., and city administrator at Sumner, Wash.
The council will meet at 6pm Monday evening at the Lewiston City Library.
Nygaard will succeed Jim Bennett who announced his retirement earlier this year after serving as city manager for six years. (Lewiston Tribune)
