Fire crews are mopping up hotspots within the 200-acre Yellow Bull Fire, located 10 miles southwest of Kamiah between Red Rock Road and Highway 162.

The lightning-caused fire, which began early Tuesday night is considered controlled and will be in patrol status by Thursday.

A Type 4 Incident Commander is now in charge of the firefighting efforts.  Additional fire resources requested earlier were not needed.

The fire was battled by the Idaho Department of Lands, the U.S. Forest Service, and more than 30 volunteers with tractors, implements and a dozer.  Three engines remain on the scene.

Crews worked together over night Tuesday to save three homes from the blaze, however one outbuilding did burn.  (Idaho Department of Lands)
