Idaho regulators are accepting comment in Lewiston this week on a request by Avista Utilities to raise electricity and natural gas rates in the Gem State.

The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is considering a proposal that would raise electricity rates by 7.9 percent January 1st and 4.2 percent in 2019.  Gas rates would climb by 5.7 percent at the first of the year and 3.3 percent in 2019.

Commissioners accept comments from the public at a two-hour workshop Wednesday night at 7 o’clock in Room 112 of Sacajawea Hall at the Lewis-Clark State College.  (Lewiston Tribune)
