College of Idaho President Charlotte Borst is stepping down immediately.

After two years of leading the Caldwell liberal arts college, Borst says she’s leaving to pursue other opportunities.

The college says former CofI president Bob Hoover will come out of retirement and step in for the interim to ease the transition.  Hoover, a former University of Idaho president, led the College of Idaho from 2003 to 2009.

Borst took the post in July 2015 after a six-year tenure by Marv Henberg.

A search for the college’s 14th president is underway, with a new leader expected to be named by next June.  (Idaho Statesman)
